I broadcast the speech because I thought that it was important to show respect for our President. I was pretty surprised that there was such a negative reaction - regardless of your political beliefs, he IS the leader of our country and I think children need to hear him speak.
ReplyDeleteI thought the speech was relevant and that his message to them about working hard and not giving up was powerful. My second graders and I had a great discussion after it was over. I posted a blog entry to let parents know about our discussion and several of them thanked me for showing it - there was only one parent who reacted negatively.
